Then you should come on a geological excursion in Nepal. You’re sure to fall in love with the country’s people, its food, and of course its landscape. That’s what happened to me when I first travelled there to do field work as a geologist more than ten years ago. 

I have been returning regularly ever since, to visit the many friends I found in Nepal and continuing to explore by trekking and climbing all over this excitingly diverse country. I’m inviting you to share my passion and come on a trek in Nepal. Together with local guides, we’ll show you how the landscape and culture came to be as they are. 

About Me: 

My name is Natalie Voegeli. I am a Geologist from Switzerland and an expert on the Himalayas; for my PhD I studied the formation of the Himalayas and its influence on the past climate. 

Ever since I was a little girl I ventured into the mountains to look for beautiful rocks and crystals. My studies of Earth Science made my passion even bigger and I love sharing my knowledge with everyone who is interested. Since 2020 I have been organizing scientific expeditions for teenage girls in Switzerland (with Girls* on Ice Switzerland). To expand my work, I founded ‘VoegeliTours’ and am now offering geological excursions and trekking in the Himalayas together with Himali Exped.

Whenever time allows, I’m somewhere up in the mountains on skis in winter or hiking and climbing in summer. I have organized many hikes for different groups of people over the last years and I am looking forward to going trekking with you.
