Itinerary

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, complete the necessary visa formalities and collect your luggage. As you exit the arrival hall, look for your Himali Exped trip leader holding a sign with our company name. They will warmly greet you and escort you to your Kathmandu hotel.
Once you've settled in, enjoy refreshing welcome drinks. Later in the evening, your trek leader will provide a detailed briefing about your upcoming adventure in the hotel lobby. Take some time to explore the surrounding area and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. In the evening, savor a delicious welcome dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant, offering a delightful introduction to local cuisine.
Today, after a delicious breakfast, your trek guide will provide a comprehensive briefing. They'll cover essential details about the trek, answer any questions you have, and help you complete your final preparations.
If you have last-minute errands – shopping, currency exchange, etc. – today is a great time to take care of them. The rest of the day is yours to explore and enjoy!
Wake up early for an exciting flight to Lukla, gateway to your Everest Base Camp adventure. The scenic 30-minute flight offers breathtaking views of massive peaks, hinting at the grandeur to come. Upon arrival in Lukla, meet your support crew and begin your trek. Follow a well-defined trail along the Dudh Koshi Valley, spending the night in Phakding.

During peak seasons (April-May & Sept-Nov), flights to/from Lukla may operate from Ramechap airport to manage air traffic. This involves a 4-hour drive from Kathmandu prior to your short 12-minute Ramechap-Lukla flight.

Elevation Change: Overnight gain of 1,250m/4,100ft
Your journey continues along the Dudh Koshi River, winding through fragrant pine forests. Cross thrilling suspension bridges, pausing in the charming villages of Zapute, Toktok, Benkar, and Chumoa. Soon, you'll reach Monjo, the gateway to Sagarmatha National Park, a sanctuary dedicated to preserving this precious mountain environment.

Descend from the park, cross another bridge, and prepare for the ascent to the high Hillary Bridge. As you cross, the climb to Namche Bazaar begins. Along the way, admire breathtaking views of Thamserku Mountain. If the weather cooperates, you'll even catch your first glimpses of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Kusum Khangru – a magnificent preview of what awaits!

Elevation Gain: Approximately 850m/2,788ft
We remain at Namche for a second night to allow for proper acclimatization to the altitude. Namche is a prosperous village, situated in a large protected hollow. After breakfast, there are a number of options: perhaps a hike up to Everest view hotel, Khumjung and Khunde, or walk towards Thame (3810m) above the beautiful Bhote Khola river valley, or a visit to the National Park Headquarters to see the interesting displays of Sherpa lifestyle and culture.
There is also a mountaineering display and details of the park’s flora and fauna. Your guides will be on hand to offer advice and escort you on your walks.

Our carefully designed itinerary from Namche to Dingboche takes you off the beaten path, offering a better acclimatization experience and the chance to explore the less-traveled Khumjung and Phortse valleys. This alternative route promises a sense of discovery and a more gradual ascent.

Elevation Gain: Approximately 330m/1083ft
Today, our less-trodden route continues as we make our way to Phortse – a fascinating village renowned as the "summiteers village." This community boasts the highest number of Everest summiteers in the entire region! If you're interested, explore the newly built climbing center, offering a glimpse into the mountaineering culture of Phortse.

Elevation Gain: Approximately 60m/197ft (highlighting the ease of acclimatization)

Our hike today takes us past sacred Chortens, intricately carved mani walls, and charming villages. We'll pause for a delicious meal, savoring breathtaking views of Amadablam towering majestically above us. From there, we trek through Pangboche, the highest permanent settlement in the valley, and tackle the day's most challenging climb, reaching the settlement of Dingboche.

Here, agriculture thrives, with fields of buckwheat, potatoes, and barley enclosed by traditional stone walls.

Elevation Gain: Approximately 572m/18,77ft

Today, we embrace the motto "climb high and sleep low" for optimal acclimatization. Prepare for a challenging ascent to Nagartsang Peak [5,083m/16,625ft]. As you reach the summit, gasping for breath, the panoramic views reward your determined effort. This strategic climb helps your body adapt to the high altitude. Afterward, descend to Dingboche, enjoying a well-deserved afternoon of rest.
After passing the teahouses of Duglha, we ascend further into the Khumbu glacier's rugged moraine, a landscape both beautiful and treacherous. Along the way, a poignant chain of stone monuments honors the Sherpas who lost their lives in pursuit of Everest's summit. The trail then descends, hugging the western valley wall as we journey towards Lobuche. As the sun dips lower, Nuptse blazes with color – a breathtaking farewell to the day.

Overall elevation gain tonight from previous night: 498m/1,633ft
A real early start is required to reach the Everest Base Camp. It takes several hours as the trail weaves its way through ice pinnacles and past the crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. After a brief lunch and rest, we take the trail to Everest Base Camp through the once vast Gorak Shep Lake. Only upon reaching the Everest Base Camp do we really appreciate the Everest climbers who brave the risky route through the Khumbu icefall. Mountaineer's tents stand out in bright colors against the monotony of gray surroundings (especially in the spring). Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori are the mountains we can view from the base camp. On the return leg, we can take a higher route to get a grand view of the Khumbu icefall and the route to the South Col. We return to Gorakshep for a restful night.

Overall elevation gain : 230m/754ft
Today, the highlight of our journey awaits! We rise before dawn, braving the cold (-10 to -14 C) and potential winds, for an unforgettable trek to Kala Patthar. Our goal: witness the first rays of sunlight illuminate Everest's mighty peak. As we climb, familiar giants like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse rise to the east, while Everest gradually reveals itself between Nuptse and the West Shoulder. We'll pause along the way, breathless from exertion and awe, snapping photos at stunning viewpoints.

After a challenging ascent, we reach Kala Patthar's summit, marked by cairns and fluttering prayer flags. The panoramic Himalayan vistas will leave you speechless as your eyes sweep across the legendary peaks. Capture this moment with countless photos, knowing these memories will last forever. Finally, we descend to Pheriche, relishing a well-deserved night's rest.
Today, we descend, rejoining the standard route towards Namche Bazaar via Pangboche and Tengboche. As we retrace our steps, the mountain panoramas remain awe-inspiring. Prepare to be captivated by the surreal scene from Kyanjuma, where Ama Dablam dominates the landscape, towering majestically before you. From here, it's a scenic 1.5-hour walk back to the lively hub of Namche Bazaar.
Farewell to the Mountains

Our final day of trekking leads us down along the Dudh Kosi River back to Lukla. The first few hours involve a steep descent, followed by a gentler walk beside the river. After a well-earned lunch along the way, we conquer the final climb back to the Lukla airstrip.

With time to spare, relax in the warmth of the sun and reflect on your extraordinary journey. The emotions and self-discovery amidst these towering peaks will stay with you long after you leave. Tonight, we celebrate alongside our Sherpa guides and porters, now cherished friends, rejoicing in the success of this adventure. Share stories and laughter, bringing this unforgettable experience to a joyful close before drifting into a contented sleep.

Rise and shine for an energizing breakfast, savoring the memories of your triumphant Everest Base Camp trek. Soon, we'll transfer you to the Kathmandu airport for your return flight.

Upon landing in Kathmandu, a sense of accomplishment will likely wash over you. You've conquered incredible challenges and witnessed breathtaking beauty. The rest of the day is yours to explore this fascinating city at your own pace. Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, visit ancient temples, or simply relax and unwind.
Today is free for you to enjoy at your leisure. Use this time to relax and recharge after your trek, or take the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu. It's also a wise precaution, allowing for flexibility in case of unexpected flight delays.
